Spring Break....ROAD TRIP!

How in the world have we had a mini-van for 3 years and have never taken a road trip? No more my friends. Luckily Preston was able to take off work and we loaded up and drove to San Antonio for Spring Break!

Can I just say that I had a very proud moment last week as a mother. The boys actually packed their bag for the trip! So many of their daily chores they do are just things to make them work but with no real benefit or help to me...especially when I have to go back when they aren't watching and do it all over again. But this was different. I gave them a list of what they needed and they were off, packing their own suitcase. It was a moment of sheer pleasure for a Mother. Maybe this mothering thing is going to get easier!

Off we headed to New Braunfels, home of the famous Schlitterbaun water park. We stayed one night at a hotel nestled along the Guadalupe River. The next day we spent at Sea World taking in as many shows and rides as we could handle. The boys loved it and Caroline tolerated everything so well from the stroller. What a trooper. Carter loved seeing "Shampoo" and Cole conquered his fear and rode on "Journey to Atlantis". Which Carter calls "Journey to Lance" (his Uncle). Oh, the world from a 4 year old's point of view. The next 2 nights we spent at a hotel in San Antonio. The hotel had many activities for kids which kept everyone happy for two solid days. Even Preston, who only took in bits and pieces of March Madness, had a great time. After a long 8 hour drive home (crazy traffic) we had survived our first family road trip! Hopefully the first of many more to come.

"i LoOKeD OuT tHe wiNdOW..."

HOORAY!!! Spring has finally arrived in Texas!
Here is our very own "popcorn tree".

Caroline loves to walk up and down the sidewalk. The only thing that will stop her in her tracks is a dog barking. She gets so excited and stares in the direction of the bark waiting to hear it again. She loves dogs or at least dogs barking?

Cole is getting so big. I can't believe he is growing up so fast.

Caroline and I after church. Finally got a picture of my new hair! It only took a couple weeks to get a picture when I was dressed, hair done, make-up on and of course someone over 6 years old to take it!
